Questions

Straight answers.

Including the ones where the honest answer is that we do not know yet.

Does Dripssai contain caffeine?
No. The açaí seed does not contain caffeine, so there is none to remove. This is different from decaf, which begins as caffeinated coffee and has the caffeine stripped out during processing. Nothing of that kind happens here.
Is it coffee?
No. It contains no coffee at all. It is the roasted, ground seed of the açaí fruit, which is unrelated to the coffee plant. It brews like coffee and drinks like coffee, but nothing in the bag came from a coffee bean.
Is Dripssai organic?
Açaí palms are not farmed. They grow wild in the floodplains of Pará, they are not planted and they are not sprayed. Dripssai is a single-ingredient product: roasted açaí seed and nothing else. No sugar, no flavouring, no preservatives, no fillers.
What is actually in it?
Roasted, ground açaí seed. That is the entire ingredients list, and it is one line long on the pack.
What does it taste like?
Dark and full-bodied, closer to coffee than tea, with earthy and nutty notes. It is low in acid and does not carry coffee bitterness. It does not taste like açaí smoothie bowls, because the pulp and the seed are different parts of the fruit and taste nothing alike.
How do I make it?
Exactly as you make coffee. Drip machine, French press, pour-over, percolator, espresso portafilter or overnight as cold brew. Start at the ratio you already use and adjust to taste.
Where is it made?
At our own factory in Distrito de Cajazeiras, Itupiranga, in the state of Pará, Brazil. Over ninety percent of the world’s açaí grows in Pará. We are the producer, not a brand buying from one.
Is there sugar in it?
No. Nothing is added to it at any stage. It has no added sugar and no calories from sugar.
Can I drink it while pregnant or breastfeeding?
Check with your doctor before regularly using any new product, including one that is caffeine-free. We are not in a position to give you medical advice and would not try.
I have heard about Chagas disease and açaí. Should I be concerned?
That risk relates to raw, unpasteurised açaí pulp, which can be contaminated during harvest. It does not apply to a roasted seed product. Our seeds are washed, dried and roasted at high temperature, which eliminates that concern entirely.
When can I buy it in the United States?
We are working through US import, labelling and registration now, and we are not going to guess at a date we cannot keep. Join the list and we will tell you as soon as it is real.
Do you ship internationally?
Within Brazil, yes, today. Outside Brazil, not yet. The US is the market we are working on next.
